Daystar Television Network has selected Imagine Communications to upgrade its video operations from SD to HD with an end-to-end broadcast workflow solution. The integrated implementation spans production, master control and play-to-air operations, and replaces an existing traffic and billing system with a centralized international solution for Daystar's cable networks and 100 TV properties. The upgrade is intended to help streamline business operations for Daystar's headquarters and primary production facility in Dallas and enhance its ability to deliver HD content.
The deployment includes video infrastructure solutions to migrate Daystar's production operations from SD to HD, including routing and control solutions, as well as a master control channel playout solution using scalable software. The deployment also includes media software applications and facility signal processing solutions, and Imagine's LandmarkOSI traffic and billing software.
In related Imagine news, the company has released LandmarkOSI Traffic & Billing 8.4. The new version is intended to give broadcast TV, cable and radio stations in North America the ability to receive and electronically ingest commercial instructions using the SMPTE Broadcast eXchange Format (BXF) 3.0. Version 8.4 is designed to ingest commercial schedules using XML, eliminating the labor-intensive process of manually re-keying information received via fax and e-mail, along with the inevitable human errors with the associated data entry.
