Liberty Global (NASDAQ:LBTYA) has launched MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) operations at UPC Austria and Virgin Media Ireland using Amdocs' (NASDAQ:DOX) Compact Convergence solution.

Delivered in a managed services model, the Amdocs back office solution spans multiple business and operational support systems (B/OSS) for ordering, provisioning, service creation and delivery, real-time charging and billing. The two new Liberty Global MVNOs were deployed on a single platform in less than a year, Amdocs says.

Amdocs delivered a similar solution to enable Liberty Global to launch mobile operations in The Netherlands, Switzerland and Hungary, and is now hosting all five markets on one centralized platform supported by Amdocs managed services, including daily operations, maintenance, application development and testing.
