Asia
Ooyala has signed HBO Asia to upgrade its content distribution business across linear and OTT channels, and speed up time to market for Asia. The Ooyala Flex Media Platform will be integrating and connecting all of HBO Asia's existing systems, processes, and tools.
HBO Asia reaches 23 territories across Asia with five 24-hour commercial-free subscription movie channels. HBO content is distributed via its traditional linear channel partners, as well as to HBO's own streaming platform, HBO GO.
The Ooyala Flex Media Platform is used to orchestrate media workflows for HBO Asia from start to finish, and as media logistics to prepare and process content for quality control, encoding, and distribution across both linear and OTT channels.
Germany
Vodafone Germany is deploying Casa Systems' DOCSIS 3.1 network solution to deliver high-speed broadband services across its entire cable footprint.
Last year, Vodafone launched a Gigabit Investment Plan comprising three initiatives to transform its fixed access network infrastructure and enable high-speed broadband services. The Giga-Cable initiative will deliver gigabit speeds to Vodafone's cable footprint through the adoption of DOCSIS 3.1 based solutions, including Casa Systems' Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP) with DOCSIS 3.1 technology. By the end of 2021, gigabit speeds are expected to be available to more than 12 million households.
Vodafone Germany has 6.8 million fixed broadband customers.
Oman
Optiva announced the commercial launch of Omani telco Omantel's multi-play billing and charging transformation on Optiva Charging Engine. The deployment is intended to assist Omantel to upgrade its fixed-line and multi-play services.
Omantel has a partnership with the Oman Government Network. In this role, it supports the government's telecommunication infrastructure and digital transformation.
Turkey
Teleste will continue the deliveries of optical headend products to Turksat A.S., a satellite and cable operator in Turkey. Extending the headend optics deployments last year, the new deliveries will again be carried out in cooperation with Teleste's local partner, Telco İletisim Teknolojileri, and they are slated to take place during the course of 2019.
The deliveries to Turksat A.S. include Teleste's HDO family of headend optics designed to support DOCSIS 3.1. The deployment is based on Teleste's dual DWDM transmitters released in 2018.
