Huber+Suhner Cube Optics CUBO mini – 100G Optical Multi-Purpose Tool

Feb. 20, 2019
Most service providers have a PoP within ~40 km of the customer’s premises. This optical access part of the network has been overlooked - until now. Huber+Suhner says the CUBO mini is the first device to take advantage of the wide variety of 100G QSFP28 transceivers covering different distances. It features two QSFP28 slots, one line side, one client port. This simple setup enables full transparency of all higher levels and supports OTU4.

Judge’s comment: “Not cutting-edge technology but would be useful in specific situations. Would allow a customer to use the client optics of their choice while giving the network provider the option to available optics in a small form factor.”
