Finisar WaveAnalyzer 200A

Feb. 20, 2019
Finisar’s WaveAnalyzer 200A Handheld High-Resolution Optical Spectrum Analyzer is designed to accurately measure the next generation of DWDM optical networks. A 1-GHz absolute frequency accuracy brings the precision of a laboratory instrument to a handheld tablet with a fully integrated touchscreen. The 1.7-GHz resolution, and 1 GHz accuracy, allows optical channels to be measured accurately and in detail. Different modulation formats can be identified, problems with channel-centering, filter clipping, or flexgrid channel overlaps can be clearly seen and recorded, and correct installations verified.

Judge’s comment: “This is the proverbial better mousetrap. While this is a straightforward enhancement of existing products, the level of performance done here enables many measurements that were not possible outside the lab.”
