Clearfield, Inc. (NASDAQ:CLFD) says that its chief marketing officer, Kevin Morgan, has been elected chairman-elect for the Fiber Broadband Association. Morgan will serve one year as chairman-elect before transitioning to the chairman of the board position in 2019. Leading the Fiber Broadband Association's key agenda-setting initiatives to progress fiber deployment is an important aspect of this position, says the fiber-optic connectivity specialist.

"Kevin has been a key part of our leadership team for several years, providing critical insight, valued experience, and a commitment to the organization that is greatly appreciated," said Fiber Broadband Association President and CEO Heather Burnett Gold, who will retire on September 30, 2018 (see "Retirement in 2018 for Fiber Broadband Association President and CEO Heather Burnett Gold"). "Having someone of Kevin's caliber helping guide the organization the next two years will ensure the organization helps the market realize the full potential for fiber broadband."

Morgan was first elected to the board in 2010, and served as the association's chair of the government affairs committee and marketing committee in the past. Morgan served as the 2015 Fiber Broadband Association's board of directors chairman, and is presently serving a three-year term as a board member (2017 to 2019).

"The impact that fiber broadband has on people, businesses and communities is profound, changing the way we communicate, interact and entertain," said Morgan. "The Fiber Broadband Association serves as unifying force within the market, helping shape policy, share information and help the industry understand the social, economic and personal benefits of this core enabling technology."

Scott Jackson of Graybar is the current chairman of the Fiber Broadband Association (formerly the FTTH Council).
