Aqua Comms 'PoPs' into 1025Connect colocation facility in New York

Aqua Comms Ltd. established a point of presence (PoP) at 1025Connect, Long Island's network-neutral colocation facility. This enables 1025Connect customers to leverage Aqua Comms' suite of bandwidth and spectrum services through its transatlantic subsea fiber-optic network and its Irish Sea cable. Aqua Comms says it operates the only cable currently available that offers encryption and protection across its New York, Ireland, and UK routes up to 100 Gbps.

"This site on our groundbreaking cable system adds to our current strategic access points in Dublin, Slough, Manchester, London and New York metro markets," says Greg Varisco, CEO of Aqua Comm. "Customers looking for secure, reliable and fast links between the world's top business hubs have yet another key entry option to the most advance optical transatlantic solutions available."

Aqua Comms' 6,800-km AEConnect cable system between America and Europe was completed in January 2016 (see "CenturyLink activates 100-Gbps wavelengths on AEConnect transatlantic submarine network"). Coupled with its Irish Sea cable, the submarine network infrastructure offers high-capacity, low-latency connections between the U.S. and Europe with diverse terrestrial sections on both continents. According to Aqua Comms, the system has the least amount of shallow water exposure of any transatlantic system to provide added security and reliability.
