Fiber-optic network services provider Integra will welcome Marc Willency as its new CEO September 8, 2015. Willency, who most recently was group vice president for customer solutions and enablement at Level 3 Communications, also will join Integra's board of directors.
Willency will replace Robert E. Guth, who has served as interim president and CEO since September 2014 and has served on the Integra board of directors since 2009. Guth will remain on the Integra board as vice chairman.
The appointment comes in the wake of a restructuring of the company into two primary business units, Integra Business and Electric Lightwave (see "Integra adds Electric Lightwave, Integra Business fiber network units"). Willency will be in charge of growing the two units, as well as executing Integra's long-term strategy.
Willency has more than 17 years of industry experience. In his role at Level 3, he oversaw several sales, operations, and customer experience management functions in the North American region. Prior to his tenure at Level 3, Willency was senior vice president of customer operations at tw telecom.
"On behalf of Integra's board of directors, I am excited for Marc to build on the momentum Integra has gained over the past year aligning our day-to-day efforts with our core business strategy. He brings a tremendous amount of management experience, knowledge of the industry, and passion for building great organizations and business cultures -- all of which will help him lead the business and accelerate the transformation work already underway," said Guth.
