FEBRUARY 20, 2008 -- TeraXion Inc. (search for Teraxion) has introduced a new channel-plan-independent tunable dispersion compensator, the ClearSpectrum-TDCX.

The ClearSpectrum-DCX is designed to be channel plan independent through a wavelength-uning mechanism and can therefore be deployed in 40-Gbit/sec systems with a 50-GHz channel spacing or in long-haul 10-Gbit/sec terminals using a 25-GHz grid.

"In this rapidly growing 40-Gbit/sec market, we are committed to strengthen our business to efficiently respond to customers' demands for performance, flexibility, reliability, and exceeding their expectations. Indeed, our customers are continuously looking for cost-efficient ways to manage dispersion at 40 Gbits/sec. We are dedicated to bring novel and integrated solutions to address their current needs and TeraXion's new ClearSpectrum-TDCX is the perfect dispersion management solution," said Dr. Martin Guy, vice-president of product management and technology at TeraXion.

During the OFC/NFOEC technical conference, TeraXion's TDC technology will also be featured in field trial demonstration at 107 Gbits/sec on a commercial transport platform with existing channels carrying live traffic (see technical papers NMC2 and OMQ4).
