The DZS sdNOS (Software Defined Network Operating System) Embedded Software Platform is a standards-based, software-defined, open network operating system that forms the basis of software intelligence within the entire portfolio of DZS SDN-enabled physical and virtual products. The DZS sdNOS platform is a state-of-the-art Linux-based Real-Time Operating System with advanced SDN control capabilities for access network applications - a relatively new concept, according to DZS - that enables service providers to rapidly introduce and activate new services. With the sdNOS platform, DZS is also able to rapidly introduce new functionality, software, subsystems and protocols for both new and existing platforms. This allows DZS customers to implement new services and capabilities in their networks without additional capital investment or delays related to the procurement of new equipment.
