Ciena’s 3984 is a hardened edge router purpose-built to address the needs of broadband operators, multiple system operators (MSOs), mobile network operators (MNOs), and wholesalers to expand in the most challenging outdoor and uncontrolled environments. The 3985 can deliver Carrier Ethernet, cell-site router, PON, and wholesale mobile services, with a complete operations, administration, and maintenance suite to support the network and services performance monitoring requirements of small-scale Ethernet deployments while reducing network operating costs. All ports are 1/10/25GbE, or 10G PON, offering investment protection to both operator and customer.
