Corning says its EDGE Rapid Connect was developed with major data center operators to address a key challenge in their current environment – time. The need for efficient connectivity touches not only the connections within a data center – it also extends to connections between data centers. Corning’s EDGE Rapid Connect is designed to meet this need, helping customers interconnect data centers up to 70% faster than legacy cabling methods. The family brings preterminated connectors outside of the building, using trunk cables with the new Fast-Track MTP® Connector. Developed by Corning and US Conec, the Fast-Track MTP’s small profile enables preterminated trunks with a reduced diameter pulling grip that can be pulled through crowded conduits.

Judge’s Comment: “I really like the idea of cabling and pigtails being consolidated. This can be an advantage to older data centers that have not done a cable purge over the years.”
