EarthLink Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: ELNK) has jumped into the software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) space. The flagship offering of EarthLink SD-WAN will be EarthLink SD-WAN Concierge, in which an assigned service manager and a team of EarthLink staff will collaborate with the business customer to create and deploy routing and security policies based on real-time analytics and the customer's requirements.
EarthLink also will offer 24/7 monitoring as part of the service.
Based on VeloCloud, EarthLink SD-WAN will comprise a bundle of services, such as hosted voice, security, and secure WiFi. The company says it will offer real-time visibility and control over network and application performance to enable uptime service-level agreements (SLAs) and up to 100X the bandwidth possible via hybrid networks at significantly lower cost.
In addition to EarthLink SD-WAN Concierge, the company also will offer EarthLink SD-WAN Advisor, which will provide enterprises with the experienced IT and network resources necessary to implement and manage the SD-WAN resources internally.
EarthLink has revealed Dunn-Edwards, a paint supply company, as an initial customer.
"EarthLink SD-WAN helped us to address the slow network speeds that we were experiencing at some of our locations and gave us unique insights into our network that enabled us to prioritize our client-facing applications like point-of-sale," said Peter Girgis, CIO at Dunn-Edwards. "We've been impressed with the dedication and level of service from EarthLink. Their deep understanding of our unique challenges and the proactive management of our network has been invaluable to the growing success of key business locations."
