Comcast Business says it now offers 100-Gbps Ethernet services in Tallahassee thanks to an upgrade to its fiber-optic network in the Florida city. The operator will leverage the multi-million dollar upgrade to offer a variety of business offerings, including internet, voice, TV, and cloud-based computing services.

"In today's increasingly digital world, internet access and speed are critical to operations for businesses of all sizes and across all industries," said Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum. Comcast's positions the fiber-optic network as a source of high-bandwidth connectivity as well as useful to businesses looking for a redundant or second network for business continuity and to provide file access, backup, and recovery in the event of a disaster.

  • Ethernet Virtual Private Line: point-to-multipoint connections
  • Ethernet Network Service: multipoint-to-multipoint connectivity
  • Ethernet Dedicated Internet: continuous, high-bandwidth connectivity between customers' LANs and the public internet.

Nationally, Comcast Business supports its Ethernet services via fiber-optic network that spans 140,000 miles and features a 100-Gbps backbone.
