Unite Private Networks (UPN) says it has won a contract from Iowa-based communications service provider ICS to supply dark fiber and Ethernet internet access services. ICS will use the connectivity to support its internet, TV, and technology offerings in the state.

ICS serves multi-family communities, developers, and property management companies.

"Our partnership with UPN has enabled expansion of our business in the Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and Ames, IA markets," said Matt Bueltel, CEO/CFO at ICS Advanced Technologies. "We were impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the UPN team. Using UPN fiber to connect ICS Advanced Technologies' existing Ames fiber network provides higher-capacity backhaul between network segments. The use of dark fiber positions ICS to deploy new high-speed data connections throughout Ames to MDU (apartment) customers and provide next-generation internet service."

The use of UPN's fiber-optic network will offer ICS a secure and scalable service delivery platform, says Stephanie Tullis, regional sales director at UPN. ICS will be able to leverage the dark fiber to create a robust, dedicated fiber-optic network that can scale with the demands of their customers' requirements, she adds.
