Rogers offers gigabit Internet to small businesses in Ontario
Canadian cable operator Rogers says it has brought its Rogers Ignite for business Gigabit Internet services to several markets in Ontario. The service provider says it will offer small businesses in select markets within the province high-speed Internet as well as unlimited data usage.
Rogers Ignite for business Gigabit services are now available in "select areas" of downtown Toronto and the GTA, as well as areas in Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Markham, Pickering, Ajax, and Whitby. More cities and communities will receive access in the coming months, Rogers promises.
Rogers has priced the services at CAN$199.99.
"Internet connectivity and speeds have a direct impact on the productivity and growth potential of a small business," said Charlie Wade, senior vice-president of Enterprise Products and Solutions at Rogers. "Gigabit speeds will give our customers time back in their day so they can focus on serving their own customers and running their business. They will have the ability to support more users online, to run applications and manage files in the 'cloud' within seconds and to run systems like point of sale terminals more quickly, all on a secure connection."
Rogers has promised to make gigabit speeds available to more than 4 million homes and businesses across the company's entire cable footprint in Ontario and Atlantic Canada by the end of this year.
