EXFO fiber certifier targets data center, enterprise structured cabling
Test and measurement instrument supplier EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO) (TSX: EXF) now offers the MaxTester 940 Fiber Certifier OLTS. The "tablet-inspired" instrument aims to help installation contractors, network engineers, and IT maintenance technicians streamline system acceptance in enterprise and data center networks.
The MaxTester 940 Fiber Certifier OLTS performs certification tests quickly and accurately and offers a range of user-assistance features. For example, its step-by-step reference wizard, intelligent fault diagnosis, and patented margin meters guide technicians throughout the test process. This ability helps ensure first-time users perform their tasks efficiently while removing the risk of errors or negative loss, EXFO says.
The instrument features a 7-inch high-resolution touchscreen and Windows-like interface, as well as integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The MaxTester 940 also supports EXFO Connect, the company's cloud-based test asset management system. On-board reporting capabilities enable technicians to document their work directly from the field without the need for post-processing at the office, EXFO says. The capability enables technicians to close jobs, get paid, and move to the next job more quickly, the company asserts.
The Max-940 certifier is available in both main and remote unit formats; both have full feature sets and are compatible with EXFO's FIP-400B automated inspection probe series, which supports rapid inspection of connector endfaces at both ends. As a result, technicians can see, understand, and take action on test results, EXFO says.
EXFO also offers a 3-year warranty and a calibration interval of 3 years.
The MaxTester 940 Fiber Certifier is available now in various kits and configurations.
