redIT, a KIO Networks Group company that operates in the United States and Mexico, has deployed the 7100 Nano Packet Optical Transport Platform from Coriant, the systems firm says. Working alongside other Coriant hardware, the packet-optical transport systems will improve redIT’s ability to meet data center connectivity requirements, as well as provide other high-capacity services such as carriers’ carrier transport, managed IT cloud, and storage on demand.

redIT, a KIO Networks Group company that operates in the United States and Mexico, has deployed the 7100 Nano Packet Optical Transport Platform from Coriant, the systems firm says. Working alongside other Coriant hardware, the packet-optical transport systems will improve redIT's ability to meet data center interconnectivity requirements, as well as provide other high-capacity services such as carriers' carrier transport, managed IT cloud, and storage on demand.

The fiber-optic network services company possesses more than 3,000 km of metro optical fiber throughout Mexico and the United States. It also offers 5,000 km of extended network coverage to 2,900 lit buildings in major cities. In addition to the two North American countries, redIT has a presence in Spain, Panama, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic.

"Our customers face unprecedented challenges in today's fast-paced and cloud-centric era of IT communications, and we are helping them meet these challenges head on with seamless and secure connectivity solutions optimized for their dynamic business needs," said Benjamín Martínez, redIT's connectivity director. "Our high-capacity transport infrastructure plays a critical role in our ability to deliver these solutions, and Coriant's proven technology is helping us strengthen our customer value proposition with unmatched networking reliability, agility, and scalability."

In addition to the 7100 Nano, redIT also has employed Coriant's 8600 Smart Router Series and the 6300 Managed MSPP/Transport Platform. The 6300 platform is used at the edge of redIT's network to support a range of legacy low-speed TDM and packet services, while the 8600 series of IP/MPLS edge routers supports aggregation and transport of carrier-class Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet services.
