Global Capacity adds MPLS VPN to service mix
Connectivity service provider Global Capacity says it can now offer Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Virtual Private Network (VPN) service over its One Marketplace backbone. The company says it has also expanded its reach to provide connectivity to over 9.6 million business addresses.
The One Marketplace network now leverages 41 points of presence (PoPs), 86 local aggregation PoPs, 2,007 central offices (COs), and more than 4,513 last-mile network interconnections, says Global Capacity. That translates to coverage of 98% of the US business market, the company asserts.
Global Capacity now offers MPLS VPN services via Ethernet, T1, and DSL to its wholesale customers. The service is available with incremental bandwidth options ranging from 1 Mbps to 1 Gbps, and with four quality of services (QoS) levels. By supporting multiple VPN services over the same access connection, Global Capacity says it can help businesses simplify complex virtual network environments.
"The combination of Global Capacity's leading state of network interconnectedness, its MPLS VPN technology, and innovative applications enables our wholesale customers to simplify WAN deployments and gain the reach needed to meet enterprise customer needs," says Ben Edmond, chief revenue officer of Global Capacity. "With the One Marketplace platform, customers easily obtain the right connectivity to the right location for the right application efficiently and cost-effectively."
