Anritsu Co.  says it has concluded a contract with Openreach, BT’s access network division, for the supply of fiber optic test equipment to support the deployment of high-speed fiber-optic networks.

Anritsu Co. says it has won a contract from Openreach, BT’s access network division, for the supply of fiber-optic test equipment to support the deployment of high-speed fiber-optic networks.

Anritsu will supply more than 1,000 units of the MT9090A Network Master under the contract, to measure the quality of fiber-optic cable and connections in order to verify the installation. The MT9090A is targeted at FTTx applications.

The MT9090A provides "industry leading capability in a unique compact size" that is suited to making measurements out at the installation site, according to Anritsu. The unit features a dynamic range of 37 dB, together with the newly released "Fibre Visualiser" software to present the reading and analysis of the test results in an easy-to-use and informative visual block diagram.

The combination of performance and form-factor for the Network Master makes it an ideal piece of equipment for this type of testing, which has been chosen for testing some of the world’s most advanced fiber access network deployments, the vendor asserts.

Michael Spatny, general manager for Anritsu in the EMEA region said, “Anritsu is extremely proud to be selected to supply BT with our Network Master, demonstrating Anritsu’s leading position in the supply of fiber-optic test equipment and supporting BT in the deployment of advanced fiber-optic networks.”
