Global Tier 1 mobile carrier grants EXFO $2 million deal for mobile backhaul test and monitoring
Test and measurement specialist EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO, TSX: EXF) says it has won a US$2 million order from a global Tier 1 mobile network operator for equipment and software aimed at the operator’s mobile backhaul infrastructure. EXFO declined to further identify the customer.
EXFO will supply elements of its Ethernet One portfolio, including BrixNGN service assurance software, BV-3100 verifiers, and FTB-1 field-portable platforms, under terms of the award. The equipment will be applied to what EXFO termed "complete assessment" of the operator's mobile backhaul network, including such applications as service turn-up, real-time monitoring, and advanced troubleshooting.
The test technology vendor said it won the deal based on its ability to meet enhanced service performance delivery, increased operational efficiency, and accelerated time-to-revenue requirements.
"I am really pleased with this significant deal as it demonstrates that EXFO's centralized and automated end-to-end Ethernet One solution for assessing the complete mobile backhaul network lifecycle is a winning combination," said Claudio Mazzuca, vice-president of EXFO's Transport and Service Assurance Division. "This contract win with a global Tier 1 mobile network operator also bodes well for the future, since the rapid expansion of the mobile industry is clearly creating real-life challenges for our customers and wonderful opportunities for an innovation leader like EXFO."
The bulk of the order’s revenue will be recognized in fiscal 2015.
