Interoute adds DTN-X to 100-Gbps pan-European fiber-optic network
Cloud services provider Interoute has added DTN-X platforms to pan-European 100-Gbps network it built with Infinera’s (NASDAQ: INFN) DTN systems.
Interoute built its European fiber-optic network with systems from both Ciena and Infinera (see “Interoute selects Infinera, Ciena for Pan-European network expansion” and “Interoute takes 100 Gigabit Ethernet across Europe via Infinera DTN”). It connects 102 cities in 30 countries; it includes 21 “dense city networks” in major business centers and nine subsea landing stations. The network serves “every major European national telecoms provider,” as well as major operators in North America, Africa, east and south Asia and the Middle East, the two companies assert.
Infinera says Interoute decided to deploy the DTN-X because of its scale, efficiency, and simplicity.
"The DTN-X helps us win in the marketplace," added Jonathan Wright, vice president, service provider at Interoute. "Speed to deliver services is key in our industry. Infinera's solutions have enabled us to deliver anywhere from 10-Gbps to 500-Gbps capacity quickly and allows us to efficiently provision services as the market dictates."
