OptiXsoft and Agizer move fiber-optic test data into the cloud

OptiXsoft and Agizer have introduced Fiberizer Cloud, a software as a service (SaaS) for fiber-optic test and measurement data management and analysis.

OptiXsoft and Agizer said they found out the hard way that it’s often troublesome and resource-intensive for small companies to install, launch, and maintain any kind of in-house test data management or database-related systems. Since both companies have experience in fiber-optic test equipment and software development, it was logical for them to tackle the problem directly, they say.

The result is a new Web service, Fiberizer Cloud, which has been developed from the viewpoint of ordinary fiber-optic engineers and their businesses. Now engineers have no need to store multiple copies of their optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) traces on different computers in nested folders, or to order expensive custom software, the companies say.

Fiberizer Cloud makes it possible to store and analyze fiber-optic testing data directly from the browser opened on any desktop PC or notebook connected to the internet, wherever they are. The software has a web client based on Microsoft Silverlight technology. iOS and Android mobile clients are coming soon, the companies add.

Fiberizer Cloud supports OTDR traces in universal Telcordia GR-196 and SR-4731 *.SOR format enabling it to work with most of modern OTDRs. The software offers OTDR trace analysis instruments like measurement of loss, reflection, attenuation, and event tables; has bidirectional and batch analysis features; and can generate of PDF reports (with embedded traces).

Currently Fiberizer Cloud registration is free and available at http://fiberizer.com.
